Precious Irena Sendler: A Heroine and Inspiration!

Fresh Manna
by Pastor Tim Burt

A Note From Pastor Tim: Each day I receive notes from people around the world that express their appreciation for writing Fresh Manna. That blesses me more than words can say. At the beginning of 2016, after much prayer, the Lord has dealt with me to expand my efforts. Fresh Manna has been read in over 196 countries, on almost a zero budget, on my sole efforts. If you are someone who has been touched and helped in our heart by Fresh Manna, then will you please consider giving any kind of gift toward my efforts. No gift is too small! Reaching people with the love of Christ is the most important mission in the world, and anything you might to do to help that would be a blessing. Please know that God’s Word promises that even the smallest effort from the heart, to touch and bless the life of another, will not go unrewarded. Thank you and God bless you. Matthew 10:42 (NKJV) “And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

Precious Irena Sendler: A Hero and Inspiration!
(Author Unknown)

On 12 May 2008, Irena Sendler died of pneumonia at the age of 98 in Warsaw. This amazing woman was truly a heroine and an inspiration beyond words!

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ‘ulterior motive’ …

She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize … She was not selected. Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.
Isaiah 62:1 (NLT) “Because I love Zion, because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch.”
In His Love,
Pastor Tim Burt
